Weather warning issued as more snow is forecast

Residents are being told to be prepared as the region is expected to be hit by more snow.

The met office issued an “amber” warning as a band of sleet and snow is expected to move eastwards across the region later today.

Snowfalls of 2 to 5 cm at low levels and as much as 10 cm above 150 metres are likely to occur, mostly within a three to four hour period.

Although the met office are warning public transport may be affected a spokesman for First bus company said all services were currently running as normal.
