Wath-based MEP Linda McAvan welcomed news that Drax Power Station has been awarded around £240 million for a new project that could create 4000 jobs.

The European Commission awarded the funding to the North Yorkshire plant for its carbon capture project. Ms McAvan is pictured above with Dr Jim Doyle, environmental consents officer at Drax.
