It’s the end of November and that can only mean one thing: the mos have got to go.
That’s why Doncaster barber James Herrington has brought his pop-up male grooming salon to the Frenchgate Centre.
For a £10 charity donation, bearded and moustache-clad gents can get pampered and preened with a traditional hot towel shave complete with the cut-throat razor blade experience.
James, who runs The Gentleman’s Retreat on Church Walk, Bawtry, said: “They love it. I always find it’s something they’ve always fancied trying but they never know where to get one. They say it’s something to have ticked off their bucket list and they love the experience.”
Among James’ willing victims was Paul Hope, 49, and his son Aaron, 21, of Rolleston Road, Carcroft.
Paul said: “It’s very relaxing. You’re putting yourself in somebody’s hands and it’s like you’re getting pampered.”
The pop-up salon, styled as an old school barber shop, is open in the Frenchgate Centre outside Next today from 10am to 4pm. All money raised will go to Movember charities including Prostate Cancer UK.
Frenchgate Centre manager Patrick Mellon said: “We know that lots of our male customers have been raising money for Movember and we wanted to offer them a chance to reward themselves for their efforts with a bit of pampering during their shopping trip.”
