Residents joined in the Sport Relief fun on Sunday afternoon by completing a series of fun runs at Balby Carr Community Academy.
More than 130 people of all ages gathered at the academy to complete a music-filled warm up routine followed by races covering one, three and six miles.
This followed Friday’s school run in which about 1000 completed a mile run at various times across the day.
The school run is expected to have raised more than £1000, while funds from the community run will also fetch in thousands of pounds.
Finningley woman Rebecca Dawson, 44, completed the one mile run with her son Oliver, 7, and said they had raised about £50.
She added: “I couldn’t keep up with him. He just shot off.”
Brothers Luc, 10, and Alexei Burke, 7, of Clay Lane, Doncaster, also said they were glad to finish.
Luc said: “It was great but when you finish you feel really out of breath.”
Johnathan Bownes, 26, social enterprise manager for the academy, said: “The turn out from the Balby Carr community has been brilliant.”
Nationwide, more than £51 million has been raised, which will go to help disadvantaged people in the UK and around the world.
