Dearne Valley College students did their bit for Sport Relief by completing a mile run around the campus.

Their efforts for the annual sporting extravaganza raised about £200, which will go towards helping disadvantaged youngsters in the UK and abroad.

Event organiser Nick Gill, the college’s ‘sports maker’, said: “The students put in a fantastic effort to raise money in aid of Sport Relief - some of the sports students took the College Mile challenge as an opportunity to test their fitness and recorded their lap times, whilst other students brought an comedic air to the day by coming along in fancy dress and having a good time, having also been sponsored to do the event by friends and family.

“It’s been a great day for all involved, and we are well on our way to hitting our fundraising target of £200.”
