The demolition of the remaining part of the Cleveland Street footbridge has got underway, with work expected to last until 8pm.
The bridge was damaged on Wednesday after it was struck by a lorry with a crane on it.
A team of ten workmen from the Westmoreland Group are demolishing the bridge on behalf of Doncaster council, using various equipment including a large mobile crane, excavators and braking equipment.
Cleveland Street is closed to outbound traffic today until 8pm, or until completion, with a signed diversion route in place.
Bridge engineer for Doncaster council, David Smith, said the demolition was going well, and he hoped the work would be finished ahead of schedule.
