The two day Thorne Summer Festival got underway today with thousnads enjoying the blue skies and a host of attractions.
The event started just after 10.30am with a festival parade, headed by the Gala Queen, 10-year-old Beatriec Connelly, from Moorends, leaving the Sainsbury’s car park in an open top car to head towards the festival in Thorne Memorial Park.
The event, running until 5pm today and tomorrow, features a huge range of attractions, including live music, dancers, a magician, animals, circus skills workshop, classic cars, martial arts, model boats and planes, an assault course, craft workshops, dog show and a treasure trail.
It is sponsored by Thorne Town Council.
