OPPORTUNIST thieves jumped in to a van at Bolton-on-Dearne, as its driver was unloading at the back of it.

The grey Ford Transit van, registration V109 KOE was parked outside Barney’s Rubble and DIY Store on Angel Street, Bolton, when the incident took place at about 1pm today.

Police have put a search out for the vehicle. Owner Dawn Asquith said: “The thief just got in and sped away. It’s likely it was taken for a specific reason, and the police are hopeful that we may get it back.

“We had a shop burglary not long ago. There have been many incidents around the area of late.”

Anyone who spots the van should report it to police on the 101 number.
