The family of a scooter rider killed in a crash have paid tribute to him.

Stephen Shephard, 45, died on the A630 after being in collision with a car.

A family statement said: “Steve was a very popular man. He was an enthusiastic motorcyclist, and a member of the A1 Scooter club in Doncaster. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all that knew him.”

The collision happened at around 7.40pm on on Sunday on Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, at the junction with Milner Gate.

The woman driver, who has not been named, but is also from Conisbrough, was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 1,056 of October 7.
