TV Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson hinted yesterday that he may run for Parliament.

On Twitter, the outspoken presenter said that he was considering standing in Labour leader Ed Miliband’s seat as an independent in the next General Election.

His Tweet read: “I’m thinking I might stand in the next election as an independent for Doncaster North, which is where I’m from. Thoughts?”

Clarkson has in the past had to apologise to Mr Miliband’s political mentor and predecessor as Labour, Gordon Brown, after calling him a “one-eyed Scottish idiot”.
