Conisbrough Christmas Market will bring a host of festive activities and goodies to the village centre on December 7.
From 10am until 4pm, the centre of Conisbrough will be closed to traffic in order for everyone to enjoy the market in safety. As well as market stalls selling paintings, handbags, clothing, slate products, books, baby clothes, toys, gift wrap and cards, there will be hot and cold festive food available, crafts and a Santa’s Grotto.
Around the village other groups are celebrating by holding their Christmas fairs in Church hall and Elm Green Lane Centre. The Conisbrough and Denaby Heritage Society is holding an open day in the newly finished Heritage Centre in Conisbrough Library showing the 3,000 plus old photographs they have accumulated and information about the Castle refurbishment. The Library also has a tabletop sale.
The organisers will be selling lucky programmes scheduling the entertainment for the day as well as signposting other attractions.
St Peter’s Church choir and musicians will be on hand with live Christmas tunes throughout the day and they invite everyone to their Christingle service at 4:30pm at the end of the market.
There will be parking available in the Ivanhoe Centre, Stonecastle surgery, library and castle car parks. Buses will be diverted through High Street and Elm Green Lane for the day.
