A 16-year-old male has been charged with assault following a British Transport Police (BTP) appeal for information.
The youth, who is from the Thorne area, and who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested and charged with two counts of common assault and Section 4 public order after his name was put forward by members of the public following the appeal.
This follows an incident on a train in Doncaster on Tuesday, December 17.
He has been released on police bail to appear at Doncaster Youth Court on January 28.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We had an excellent response to this appeal and I would like to extend my thanks to the people who contacted us to provide us with information which led to this youth being arrested and charged.
“BTP would also like to thank the media for their assistance in publishing this appeal.”
