A thoughtful schoolboy had his scooter stolen after he went to help an old lady in the street.
The 11-year-old was on his scooter in Woodlands Way, Denaby, when he spotted an elderly woman who appeared to be struggling up the road.
He left his scooter leaning on a wall to go and help her but when he returned minutes later the vehicle was gone.
Police are now tracing the callous thieves and appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at noon on Sunday, April 27.
PC Steve Atkinson said: “This is a really heartless crime as the young boy was trying to help someone in need.
“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed anything, or who may have any information to please come forward.”
The scooter is described as a Zinc Havock stunt scooter and is green and black.
