Shoppers in Doncaster are being asked to show their support to a unique service which helps people with mental health problems.

Volunteers from Self Harming Support will be around Baxter Gate on Friday morning from 9am to 11am to offer advice about the #thelockproject.

The scheme asks people to draw a coloured lock on their wrist to show their support for people who suffer from a range of mental health issues.

Project leader Jackie Woodhouse, 32, of Coventry Grove, Wheatley, said: “The idea is to show people that they are not alone and support is available.

“We have felt tip pens with different colours, so red for self harm, green for anorexia, blue for depression and so on.

“If someone sees someone else with this on their wrist then it shows a togetherness.”
