A nurse from Wath is the first person in the country to complete a unique leadership programme which aims to improve people’s health and their NHS experience.
Katharine Wells, 27, a mental health nurse at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust, has completed the NHS Leadership Academy’s Edward Jenner Programme.
The programme is a free, open access online initiative, to which over 10,500 people have already signed up.
Katharine said: “I qualified as a nurse three years ago and wanted to progress my career. The online nature of the course meant it was fairly easy to work around and I had the full support of my manager which was a great help. Completing it has helped me to do my job to the best of my ability and I feel more confident managing teams in my role as a nurse in charge.
Tony Flatley, associate director of nursing at SHSC, said: “I’d like to congratulate Katharine on her achievement.”
