Spate of break-ins at Doncaster shops

Police in Doncaster are giving extra security advice after attending four reports of break-ins at businesses in Doncaster in one night last week.

The raids were reported in Scawsby, Sprotbrough, Bentley and Denaby. Officers are urging owners and managers to protect their premises and help prevent break-ins.

Crime Reduction Officer Eamonn Larkin said: “Access to premises is often gained by attacking a rear window or door at ground level, which demonstrates the importance of having correctly fitted locks.

“Property at the premises can also be protected by clearly marking the items with the company name as this helps police to trace the item, if it is stolen. By following our advice, business owners can help protect their premises.”
