Wentworth and Dearne MP John Healey visited a South Yorkshire college to support a potentially lifesaving campaign.
John helped present a defibrillator to deputy sports manager Lee South at the Dearne Valley College campus at Swinton to help lessen the risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
The equipment was provided by Martek Medical, which was represented by product manager Ian Couldwell.
Lee said: “We think that having this device on site is vital to protect students and gym members. We have around 450 users of our leisure facilities every day and having a defibrillator on our premises means we can be confident that, should an incident of cardiac arrest occur, we are fully equipped to deal with it.
“All our sports centre staff are trained to operate the equipment, which is straightforward to use and forms part of our regular first aid training, taking place every three months.”
