Police have appealed for witnesses to a South Yorkshire crash which killed a four-year-old boy days before Christmas.
Dylan Walker was a passenger in a car involved in a collision with a lorry on Monday, December 23.
The youngster, of Dodsworth Street, Mexborough, was a passenger in a white Mazda MX-5 travelling along Melton Mill Lane, Mexborough, when it was involved in a crash with an Iveco-Ford lorry at 11.35am.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said Dylan’s family were ‘struggling to come to terms with Dylan’s death’.
Police said the driver of the car – a 51-year-old Doncaster man – suffered slight injuries in the collision.
The lorry driver, a 49-year-old man from Doncaster, escaped unharmed.
A police probe into the circumstances surrounding the collision is under way.
Officers investigating want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called out to deal with the aftermath of the collision, which left Melton Mill Lane and surrounding roads closed for a number of hours.
There was a collision at the same site a month before. A 15-year-old girl was seriously injured when a Ford Fiesta she was a passenger in collided with a stone wall on the bend before coming to rest in a field.
The coroner has been informed of the death and an inquest is to be held.
