Students and staff at the South Axholme Academy celebrated their achievements at a special presentation evening for those who took their GCSE exams in the last academic year.

North Lincolnshire Council leader Liz Redfern presented certificates along with a plethora of trophies and shields, and was joined in this by Chair of Governors Paul Barratt.

The successful evening, held this month, was well attended and many students received individual subject and achievement awards. The year group was described by an academy spokesperson as “a truly magnificent group of young people.”

Three of the trophy presentations were made in remembrance of former school students Melanie Millergill, Lorna Taylor and Calum Glendenning.

Bells’ photographer Andrew Roe was there to capture the special moments.
