Sneak-in burglaries in Doncaster last night

Two sneak in burglaries have been reported overnight in Doncaster

Early this morning officers in Doncaster received reports that a car had been stolen as part of a burglary in Dunscroft.

It is believed that the front door of the property had been left unlocked as the occupants were at home. At some point between 6.30am and 8.30am it is thought that someone entered the property, took the keys and stolen a Kia Cee’d from outside the house.

Another sneak in burglary was also reported last night at an unlocked home in Cusworth.

On this occasion it is believed that a mobile phone, laptop and bag had been taken from the address while the resident was in another room.

Chf Insp Gwyn Thomas said: “Due to the vigilance of residents over the last couple of months, we have seen a reduction in these types of offences. Once again, we would ask that people continue to secure their properties and consider locking doors even whilst in the house. As we move into the spring and more people return to using their gardens, it is important to remember to lock the front door and avoid leaving your car keys on display.”
