SHOTS were fired in a Doncaster street this morning in what is believed to be a “targeted attack”.

Officers are currently investigating after a firearm was discharged towards a property in Thorne Road in Stainforth at about 10.30am.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Residents have taken to social networking sites to express fears about leaving their homes.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We currently believe this to be a targeted attack, however the motive is unclear at this stage. Anyone with any information or believes they may have witnessed this incident is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 278.”
