One of the biggest canal locks in Yorkshire has been drained for maintenance - and the public will be allowed a rare chance to walk along the lock bottom on Sunday.

The Canal and River Trust is investing about £100,000 in vital repairs to Sprotbrough Lock in Doncaster on the Sheffield amd South Yorkshire Navigation.

The lock, which is 75m long and seven metres deep, will be open on Sunday for a close-up look.
