Second man charged in connection with flat fire death

A SECOND man has been charged in connection with the death of a 40-year-old man in a Doncaster flat fire on Christmas Eve.

Robert Danby, 60, of Dentons Way, Kirk Sandall, has been charged with assisting an offender and is due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court this morning.

This alleged offence is connected to the murder of Andrew Masserella, 40, whose body was found following a fire in Callender Court, Cantley, on December 24 last year.

Jay Griffiths, 25, of Highbury Avenue, Doncaster, is facing a murder charge in connection with Mr Masserella’s death.

He is due to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on December 12.
