DONCASTER Rovers has teamed up with the Professional Footballers’ Association to offer young people possible careers in sport and reduce unemployment in the borough.

The ‘Achievement Through Sport’ project will offer education, training and employment opportunities to young people who have left school and are not yet on their chosen career paths.

To help boost their future prospects, the Doncaster Rovers Education Foundation is staging a large recruitment event aimed specifically at young people aged between 16 and 24.

The event is being hosted by Doncaster Rovers, the PFA and the Union Learning Fund.

The event will be held next Tuesday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Rovers’ home ground the Keepmoat Stadium.

There will be educational helpers and employers with stands at the event offering leaflets, guidance and information.

Staff members from the Keepmoat will also be on hand to speak to young people about employment and education opportunities.

Rovers are offering each attendee a discounted adult ticket of £5 to the home match fixture against Preston later that evening.

Those interested, should email Ben Thompson at ben.thompson@doncasterroversfc.co.uk or call 01302 765890.
