School kids are making progress

PRIMARY school pupils in Doncaster have shown significant progress in their Key Stage Two SATS results.

There was a six per cent increase in the number of pupils achieving Level Four and above in English and Maths across the 89 primary and five special schools in the borough compared with last year.

The tests were taken in May but provisional figures were only published by the Department of Education this week.

Councillor Eric Tatton-Kelly, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said the increase was “great news for pupils and all those who work so hard at our primary schools to help young people reach their full potential.”
