Rotherham road crash - police appeal

A 60-year old man suffered severe injuries in a rush-hour road collision in Rotherham.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident, that took place at around 5.45pm on Thursday, November 7.

The 60-year old pedestrian was in Fitzwilliam Road, at the junction of Rawson Road, when the collision occurred with a silver Mercedes 4x4 being driven by a 26-year-old man from Stockton-on-Tees.

The man was taken to hospital and his condition has since deteriorated, although it is not thought to be life-threatening.

Police officers have carried out enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw the collision, or the scene just before it happened, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 847 of 7 November 2013.
