AN EVENING of live music in memory of a former fundraiser collected hundreds of pounds for charity.

Local band Acoustic Angels played at Haxey Memorial Hall supported by a disco and managed to raise £800 for the British Heart Foundation.

The event was organised by a group of local friends, collectively called The Comite d’Evenement, in memory of former member Ian Moody, of Westwoodside, who died last year.

Organisers thanked Dave Ryan, Utopia Soft Furnishings and others who donated raffle prizes.

In addition, ‘Mobile Bars of Barnsley’ were praised for donating a substantial amount.
