Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport was the scene of an emergency exercise involving a Royal Air Force fighter jet yesterday.
Plane spotters reported seeing the RAF Tornado fighter accompanying a Monarch airliner to the Finningley airport.
When the passenger plane landed the emergency vehicles were out.
The Tornado did not land but swooped low over the airfield before the airliner landed.
A spokesman for Robin Hood confirmed it was a joint training exercise in emergency procedures involving the RAF and the airline.
