Fundraising Isle folks are being invited to join in the fun and games of this year’s Sport Relief.

The race is on for people to put their names forward to take part in the fifth annual run, which is being held at Belton All Saints Primary School.

The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile 2014 takes place on Sunday March 23, starting at 10am.

Here in the Isle, organisers are expecting hundreds of locals to get on their marks, set and go for the worthy cause.

There is something to suit all abilities, from super sprinters to willing walkers, as there is a choice of one, three or six miles to complete.

Once again the event is being organised locally by the Rotary Club of Epworth and Isle of Axholme.

Organiser, and member of the Rotary Club, Richard Vergette said: “This is the fifth time the Rotary Club has organised a Sport Relief Mile so let’s get training and show the rest of the country what we can do.

“Fun runners, walkers and fancy dressers all very welcome.”

He added: “Our MP Andrew Percy will be starting the mile once again and he hinted to me last time that he might take part.

“Well, a pledge is a pledge!”

Anyone interested in getting involved can enter online via sportrelief.com.

Richard added: “Get sponsored and help transform the lives of people living here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries, while being part of an incredible nationwide event.”
