The build-up to the first Pride in the Isle Awards is underway, with an online auction.

Among auction items to help raise cash for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, in memory of the late Alexander Strong, will be a Sheffield Wesnesday shirt and ball, signed by the team that beat Leeds 6-0 recently, and a Yorkshire country cricket shirt signed by squad 2012, that is professionally framed.

Finalists for the awards, that takes place this Saturday evening at a black tie dinner with entertainment in Epworth Leisure Centre, have been announced. They were selected from over 100 entries.

Organiser Leesa Sharpe promises a “magical and beautiful evening”. To enquire about late tickets, email leesa@sunspottanning.co.uk
