Police are investigating after the body of a man in his fifties was found behind a house in Rotherham.
Officers were called to Hollowgate, near Rotherham town centre, after the body was discovered by a member of the public.
The grim discovery was made at around 7.30am yesterday.
Yesterday the property was cordoned off with police tape as an officer stood guard. A crime scene investigation vehicle was parked outside the large semi-detached property.
A post mortem examination was due to take place late last night in order to try to determine how the man died.
Police said they did not know whether or not the death was suspicious.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained.
“A cordon is in place while forensic examinations are carried out. Inquiries are ongoing.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
