Police hunt violent robber after woman assaulted in her home
Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Wombwell during a robbery.
Police are hunting a vicious thug who attacked a Wombwell woman in her home and robbed her.
The woman was in her kitchen between 9-9.20pm on Thursday September 27 when a man with a scarf across his face and a hooded top entered the property threatened her and demanded money.
He assaulted her and escaped with cash, leaving his terrified victim with bruising and swelling on her face.
The man is described as white, approximately 6ft 4in tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing, with a scarf across his face and a hooded top.
Anyone with any information about this incident or who believes they may have witnessed it is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1209 of 27 September 2012. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
