Police hunt for masked man who attacked woman in Denaby

A 22-year-old woman was assaulted in Denaby this morning.

Police are appealing for more information on the incident which took place at around 7am, as the woman was walking along Wadworth Street in the direction of Tickhill Square.

As she approached the area around St Alban’s Catholic Church a man dressed in black is alleged to have grabbed her from behind and pulled her backwards.

As the 22-year-old woman tried to free herself from the man’s grip, he is then alleged to have punched her in her ribcage.

The 22-year-old then managed to free herself and ran away.

She did not require any hospital treatment as a result of the incident.

The man is described as being over 6ft tall of medium build wearing a black hooded jumper, black trousers and black gloves.

He is also believed to have been wearing a black balaclava at the time of the alleged assault.

Officers are appealing for anyone to come forward who may have seen a man meeting this description in the area this morning.
