Police have cracked down on crime in Balby by giving residents tips on how they can prevent being targeted.
Locals raised the issue of crime reduction at a police meeting and officers reacted by visiting homes on all streets between Greenfield Lane and Roberts Road. Cedar Road, Grenville Road and the estates on each side of Carr Hill were also given vehicle and security checks.
A police spokesman said: “In all these locations, cars and houses were found insecure and the owners notified.
“This has gone a long way to preventing crimes happening by removing the targets and ensuring security. In all these areas back streets and alleyways have been patrolled on foot and by car and people who have looked suspicious have been stopped and required to account for their presence there.”
