Pensioner hurt in Christmas Eve collision on Doncaster road.

PART of one of Doncaster’s main arterial roads was closed in both directions after a pensioner was hurt in a collision with a car.

Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, was closed at the junction of Crookhill Road following the incident which saw the pedestrian injured at around 10am today.

The injured woman, thought to have been aged in her 80s, was taken by ambulance to Doncaster Royal Infirmary for treatment. She was understood to have been conscious, and the injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The road was closed while police cleared the scene and carried out investigations into the cause of the collision.
