RESURFACING works will start next week on a section of motorway.

The Highways Agency will be carrying out roadworks at Junction 2 of the southbound carriageway of the M18 from October 22 to 25.

Works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am, and will see the carriageway resurfaced and road markings replaced. This will mean lanes on the carriageway and entry slip road will be closed.

During the slip road closures traffic will be diverted north along the M18 to Junction 3 to return southbound to Junction 2.

Highways Agency project manager, John Howard, said: “Safety is our top priority and for the safety of road users and roadworkers we encourage drivers to drive carefully past the works and diversion routes, keeping in the speed limit, and concentrating on the road ahead.”
