New gym is taking shape
NEW gym equipment has been delivered to Dearne Valley College as part of an expansion of its fitness suite.
A single storey extension was completed at the Wath-based college in 2011 after they secured £225,000 funding.
A number of new pieces of gym equipment have now been delivered including spinning bikes, a bodycore trainer, resistance equipment, a new Smith press, The Big Iron Squat Rack, new treadmills and body arcs.
Adam Stancey, sports centre manager, said: “The extension to the fitness suite and the addition of new gym equipment will allow us to extend our offer and services to the local community.
“We will continue to promote health and sport in college in line with Government initiatives.”
The new extended fitness suite facilities were officially opened last year by Amy Oliver, a British Archer from Swinton and former college student who is currently in training for the London Olympics.
