New Parkgate units are ready for the recovery

A PARKGATE industrial park is set to expand in defiance of the recession.

Rotherham Council has given the thumbs up to warehousing and distribution plans, that will extend the current use of Northfields Industrial Park.

The park is already home to DIY giant B&Q, and the 10,000 sq ft development can now be divided into two units, with electric sectional overhead doors, a secure yard and private parking.

Director of Henry Boot Developments Ltd, Vivienne Clements, said: "The recession and reduced funding for speculative property development means that, as the economy improves, there could be a shortage of high-quality units for growing business.

"We sought planning for a wide range of uses, to make the development available to many potential occupiers, so they are able to benefit from having new, high-quality cost-efficient premises and are pleased to have gained the backing of planners."

Sheffield-based chartered surveyors, Fernie Greaves, is joint agent for the scheme.
