Doncaster school children have taken the playground loom band craze to new lengths – by attempting to create the world’s longest. Youngsters at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Primary School in Armthorpe joined together hundreds and hundreds of the colourful rubber bands in a Guinness World Record attempt. The mega-loom band almost reached the 200 metre mark – some way short of the 1.3 mile world record – but the children were still proud of their efforts.
Teacher Lucy Saxton, said: “It started off with just a small group, but just grew and grew until most of the school was joining in.
“They made them at break times and were really pleased with how well they did.”
