COUNCIL tenants in Mexborough, Denaby and Conisbrough are set to benefit from a range of home improvements after a multi-million pound funding package was secured.
Doncaster Council and St Leger Homes have received £17 million Decent Homes funding from the Homes and Community Agency for the financial years 2013-2015.
The money will be used to transform 8,195 homes across the borough, set to include new kitchens, bathrooms, rewiring and any necessary external work.
Mayor of Doncaster Peter Davies said: “This is excellent news for Doncaster. It means tenants who have seen the outside of their homes improved will now see the inside transformed as well over the next few years.
“It also means this will complete the massive improvement programme on all of the council homes.”
