Market celebration

TRADERS at Mexborough Market are promising something special to mark ‘Love Your Local Market Fortnight’.

The market will mark the closure of the fortnight on Saturday, July 7, with a special celebration.

Between 9am and 4.30pm there will be prize draws, children’s rides and music.

Mexborough councillor David Holland said: “There’s always a lot of reasons to shop at Mexborough Market, but during love your local market fortnight there will be prize draws, children’s rides and music to celebrate this much loved part of our community.”

The Mayor of Doncaster, Peter Davies, added: “The Market Hall at Mexborough is currently fully occupied but we would love to welcome new stall holders to our popular outer market.

“With the full support of our existing traders, we are offering new traders a rent incentive which means that they are able to explore the benefits of becoming part of this vibrant market at a discounted rate.”

New traders wanting a stall at Mexborough Market can take advantage of a rent free stall in the first and fourth week and half price rent in the second and fifth week.

The market is also offering local charities, fund raising groups, churches and schools the opportunity to take up free stalls during a new monthly charity market.

The charity market, located on the outer market will be held on the first Wednesday of each month, until November.

Stalls will be allocated on a first come basis to groups who contact Mexborough Market staff on 01709 58 20 36.
