Man left with unconscious in street after town centre attack

POLICE have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to following an unprovoked assault in the town centre.

A 43-year-old man was attacked outside the Danum Hotel in Cleveland Street by a man he did not know.

The man alledgedly punched and kicked him until he was unconscious, leaving him with broken ribs, bruising and a broken nose, before he ran away onto Hall Gate and into Lazarus Court.

The attack happened on Sunday, 10 June, at around 2am, when the man and his friend were walking along Cleveland Street towards a takeaway after a night out.

The person officers would like to help them with their investigations is described as white, in his mid 30s. between 6 foot and 6 foot 2 inches tall and is of a stocky build.

He has short cropped dark hair, was clean-shaven and was wearing a dark T-shirt and dark jeans.
