Man hospitalised after chip pan fire

A man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after his chip pan caught fire.

Firecrews from Rotherham and Dearne stations attended the blaze on Ladycroft Road, Bolton on Dearne on Christmas Day at 5pm.

Officers wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire which a spokesman said was confined to the kitchen area of the house.
