South Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that a man whose body found in a South Yorkshire stream died from drowning, following a post-mortem examination.
Police say enquiries will continue into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, but officers believe at this stage that the death is not suspicious.
The corpse was found by a dog walker in water close to Valley Road, Wombwell, at around 6.05pm on Monday, May 12.
An underwater search team was deployed to recover the body from the water.
Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place.
