Labour has retained its stronghold in Doncaster - but there were successes for independent candidates and UKIP at the ballot box.

The party won 15 of the 21 seats up for grabs to maintain overall control at the authority - but lost councillors across the borough.
Mexborough fell to lone campaigner Andy Pickering, who fought under the banner Working For Mexborough - The Forgotten Town, while independent John Cooke seized Rossington.
There was a solitary success for UKIP in the Edenthorpe, Kirk Sandall and Barnby Dun ward where Fred Gee triumphed over Labour but the party bounced back in Bessacarr where Neil Gethin romped home.

The Conservatives retained all three of their seats.
