AN investigation into a crash at a level crossing which claimed the life of a four-year-old Haxey girl is continuing.

Emma Lifsey died after the car she was travelling in collided with a train at the Beech Hill Crossing at Misson Springs on December 4.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “At this time no charges have been brought and no inquest date has been set. Our investigation is ongoing.”

Police have been looking into how the car came to be on the tracks. Initial findings by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch have found that the crossing was operating normally at the time of the accident, with the barriers lowered as the car approached.
