Healey wears it pink for day
SUPPORT: John Healey MP is backing the annual Wear It Pink Day.
DEARNE MP John Healey is backing the fight against breast cancer and urging constituents to join him on “Wear it Pink” day - Breast Cancer Campaign’s annual day to raise funds and awareness.
The event, on Friday, October 26, will see supporters from all over the UK in schools, colleges and businesses taking part.
Mr Healey is asking people to pull on something pink on the day and give £2.
He said: “Whether it’s pink socks, a pink skirt, a pink tie or something much more adventurous – but still pink – you can help the charity hit its £2 million target to continue funding ground-breaking cancer research.”
“One in eight women experience breast cancer during their lifetime, and around 130 are newly diagnosed every day. That’s why we need to back the Breast Cancer Campaign so it can fund research which will one day lead to a cure.
“Hundreds of thousands of people take part in “Wear it Pink” every year. People can visit wearitpink.co.uk and register to receive a fundraising pack now. “
