Crowle’s White Hart Inn on High Street has retained its olde worlde character and charm, while attracting customers old and new with its range of traditional pub fare food and plenty happening throughout the week.
Manager Jack Slingsby and chef Daniel Parkin are keen to attract new faces of all ages to the pub and have a fresh food menu that currently offers carveries (two for £10) on Sundays, with mixed grills, steaks and scampi all as popular choices, and two can dine for £20 on Thursday evenings with a bottle of wine thrown in for good measure.
Entertainment-wise, Sky Sports and ESPN feature on the big screen within the pub, along with the racing channel, and there are teams being formed for football, darts and dominoes. Quiz nights, karaoke and discos, and live bands on a monthly basis all keep the place buzzing.
Last weekend saw the pub’s annual fun day for families with people travelling from across the Isle and beyond to enjoy live music, a barbecue, activities and entertainment.
And another recent charity day, with bands, a raffle and sponsored body waxings raised over £400 for MacMillan Nurses and the Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
There will be an August Bank Holiday fun day again, with all the usual attractions for families.
On June 21, a local band ‘Dog Day Afternoon’ will provide music of the soft rock genre, in line with ongoing plans for more live bands at the pub.
The White Hart has another string to its bow now, in the form of an outside bar and catering facilities for functions.
