You can have a have a warming winter brew or a toasted tea cake on us thanks to this week’s generous offer from Josh’s Diner in Mexborough indoor market.

All you have to do is cut out the voucher on page 18 and present it at Josh’s Diner from Thursday December 12 to Thursday December 19 to claim your freebie.

Market traders, husband and wife Ernest and Lorraine Strawbridge opened Josh’s Diner four years ago.

Ernest said: “We offer traditional home comfort food which is top quality and very good value indeed. Everything is cooked fresh and made here. Our oven is always on for the baking.

“We do everything from boiled eggs, all day breakfasts, home made pies and scones to Christmas dinners.

“And if it isn’t on the list we’ll try and cook it for you.”

Currently Christmas dinners are £4.50 for large and £3.50 for small portions with turkey, mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouts and cauliflower.

The couple certainly know a thing or two about fresh food as they also run their fruit and veg stall in the market.

Said Ernest: “We offer a takeaway service for people who want to warm their meal up later at home.

“Most wouldn’t be able to make it themselves for what we charge and we make sure they are well fed and come back for more.

“We have regular customers who come here from miles away, every other day for their dinner who enjoy a laugh, a joke and a good chat.

“I want to take this opportunity to wish all my customers old and new a very happy Christmas.”
