Shoppers visiting Scunthorpe, including those from the Isle, will be able to enrol on a free course at North Lincolnshire’s first Recovery College on Friday August 29.
Staff from the Options Recovery College, which is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), will be at Sainsbury’s Superstore in Doncaster Road between 10am and 3pm.
The team will be there offering enrolment for free educational courses that empower people with common mental health issues to be experts in their own recovery, as well as providing practical advice and support in improving overall mental and physical health.
Options recovery college manager, Sue Watson, said: “One in four people in the UK will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year. Despite these statistics, people still find this a difficult issue to talk about, and continue to suffer in silence.
“The Options Recovery College offers a selection of short courses that provide people with the right support and knowledge to manage the most common mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety, low mood, low self-confidence and sleep problems.”
Options Recovery College courses are available to anyone in North Lincolnshire and there are no entry requirements to enrol. Courses will run from 8 September at Sandfield House in Ashby.
